The suspect was arrested after it was discovered that a man was shot dead in Riverside County.
The suspect was identified as George Eddie Stephen Thompson, 39, of Lake Elsinore, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
On April 7, Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of North Pole Street at 11pm.
On arrival, deputies found the victim, Marcus Bryant, 37, lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound injury. Despite medical assistance from the first responder, Bryant was declared dead at the scene.
The suspect had fled the area before authorities arrived. Riverside Sheriff’s Central Murder Unit has begun investigating the incident.
During the investigation, several people were detained and interviewed. Detectives later identified Thompson as a suspicious gunman.
Thompson was arrested and booked for murder and felony weapon enhancement at the COIS Bird Detention Center.
