Do you want a dog to miss Coachella this year? Or (maybe) even better, do you go to Coachella this year and want a dog?

All Riverside County animal shelters are lucky as they offer free adoptions for two weekends this month, April 9-12 and April 16-19.

These two weekends coincides with Coachella: Coachella: Coachella, which will be held in Indio from April 11-13 and April 18-20.

Now, you won’t be seeing stars like Lady Gaga at the shelter this month, but you can see other stars like Janet, one of the many dogs who have been in the shelter for over three months “headlining” the “Burkchera” event.

Santa Monica will not hold beach volleyball for the ’28 Olympics

“Janet [has waited] The Riverside County Department of Animal Services (RCDAS) stated, “She is an 18-month castrated Rottweiler mix that came to shelter last October.”

Janet is one of many dogs who have been in the shelter for over three months “headline” the “Barkchella” event hosted by Riverside County Animal Services.

Janet, who is described as “sweet, loving, hurt lover,” is doing well on walking with other dogs, RCDAS said. She is one of almost 1,100 animals in all the Libco shelters looking for a home. Janet herself is available for adoption at the West Riverside Animal Campus in the Yurupa Valley.

The “Concert Poster” sent by RCDAS features an “All Star Lineup” of dog and cat breeds that can be used for adoption. Among the “headline names” are German shepherds and tabby cats, as well as other “performers” such as terriers, orange cats, poodles and calico cats.

“We have so many great dogs. Summer is rounding the corner. Now is the time to find hiking, swimming and outdoor companions where you can share your adventures,” said RCDAS Director Mary Martin. “When you visit a shelter and meet these wonderful pets, it’s almost impossible not to fall in love.”

“Our community includes pets, and we hope we can work together to help dogs looking for a home,” added Yxstian Gutierrez, Riverside County District 5 Superintendent. “There are many beloved pets that your loved ones need to take them with you, and adoption paid for fees is a great life-changing opportunity.”

All Riverside County animal shelters are lucky as they offer free adoptions for two weekends this month, April 9-12 and April 16-19, as part of “Barkchella.”

Potential employers can visit one of the county’s four shelters during opening hours to meet recruitable pets. The four locations are:

West Riverside County/City Animal Shelter: 6851 Van Buren Boulevard, Yulpa Valley San Jacinto Valley Animal Campus: 581 South Grand Avenue, San Jacinto Coachella Valley Animal Campus: 72-050 Pet Land, Thousand Palm Palm Palm Brite Animal Shelter: 245 South Carlton Avenue, Bright

For families looking to add new pets but want to see how they do at home before adopting them, RCDAS offers a short-term option that allows families to raise their pets until they are fully prepared.

Individuals who want to help but can’t hire full-time can sign up to raise them here.

According to the RCDA, their facility is home to over 35,000 animals a year, making its pet shelter system one of the largest animals in the country.
