The 3-year-old Shepherd Mix, who dealt with stress and anxiety when he was rescued by Best Friends Animal Society last year, is ready for his eternal home.
Abraxus, who now lives in a loving foster home, learned to warm up humans after spending time at the Best Friends Pet Adoption Center in West LA.
When Abraxas entered the adoption centre in October 2024, he had experienced many common hair loss, fleas and tested positive for Demodex, a tick infection. According to the organization, he was also underweight and experienced high fear, anxiety and stress.
The centre team worked to build Abraxus’ trust and discovered that he was the most thriving when another dog was there.
Abraxus is looking for a home around another dog companion who can help him understand the ropes of life as a dog.
According to the Best Friends Animal Society, two of the three shelters achieved 2024 denunciations as they hope to reach 100% in 2025.
