The Southern California wrestling coach has been arrested for allegedly having sexual relations with a minor student.
Anthony Oscar Alcala, 28, of Huntington Beach, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of a crime, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.
In February 2025, investigators received reports that the two teenage victims were allegedly groomed by Alcala before they had sexually connected to him.
The victim said the incident occurred when Alcala worked as a wrestling coach at El Modena High School in Orange and Foothill High School in Santa Ana.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that Alcala had previously coached a coach known as Premier Wrestling (formerly known as Somar Wrestling) at a private wrestling club in Placentia.
He was later arrested and booked at the Orange County Jail on multiple felony charges, including sexual intercourse with a minor.
The Southern California man was arrested for the ruthless murder of 15-year-old Anthony Oscar Alcala, 28, of Huntington Beach, and can be seen in Orange County Sheriff’s Office booking photos.
“The access to the juveniles suggests investigators may have additional casualties,” the Sheriff’s Department said.
No further details have been made public as the case is under investigation.
