A small plane crashed in Boca Raton on Friday morning, killing three people on board and leaving the man injured on the ground, officials said.
The crash happened in the area of Military Trail and Greys Road, not too far from Boca Raton Airport and Interstate 95.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the three-person Cessna 310 plane departed from Boca Raton Airport on its way to Tallahassee International Airport and was dropped off at about 10:20am.
Boca Raton Fire Rescue Assistant Officer Michael LaSalle said three people on the plane were killed and the man on the ground was injured. He suffered a life-threatening injury.
“There was one gentleman on the ground, and he hit the wood for all the shards and fire,” Rasal said. “It was from the fireball on the ground, and he obviously drove a fireball.”

Three bodies were seen in the wreckage, and the damaged vehicle was also nearby next to the tree.

According to Flightradar24, the aircraft appeared to be turning into the air when it returned to Boca Raton Airport.
LaSalle said the crew responded after reports of the plane having mechanical problems.
Working nearby, the crash-fall-looking hitter said he saw the plane flying low and felt their building shaking as it crashed.
The plane was lit with smoke swirling through the air, an eyewitness said.
Boca Raton police said officers responded and that roads in the area were closed.

The airport was closed but reopened around noon. Trirail officials said there was a delay due to the crash and bus service was being used.
A bus bridge was established between Deerfield Beach and the Boca Raton station after crashing into a small plane crash near the Rail corridor. Railroad services will continue south of Deerfield and north of Boca, but riders may want to seek alternative transport due to the expected delays.
