A former Los Angeles police officer pleaded guilty to a 2017 drunken driving crash in which he killed his 19-year-old son on the 605 highway in Los Angeles County, to a 2017 drunken driving crash in which he killed his 19-year-old son on the 605 highway in Los Angeles County.

Edgar Verdusko, 34, admitted to three murders, driving under the effects that caused one driving injury, and one driving count with a blood alcohol content of 0.08%.

Edgar Verduzco can be seen in photos posted on social media. Edgar Verduzco (left) will appear in court with his lawyer (right) on April 20, 2018. Both were posted in April 2017.

Verduzco was speeding at 150 mph when he collided with two vehicles on September 26, 2017. One vehicle crashed into the center partition, killing Maribel Davila, Mario Davila, and 19-year-old UC Riverside student Mario Davila and her son Oscar Davila. The driver of the second vehicle, the mother with a baby in the car seat, suffered minor injuries.

Shortly before the crash, a video filmed with beer was posted to Verduzco’s Instagram account using the hashtag #dontdrinkanddrive.

“I can’t tell you how angry and disappointing I am to have a Los Angeles police officer ignore the law and cause an accident with such awful and terrible consequences,” then LAPD chief Charlie Beck said at his arrest.

Verduzco was first released from prison for “inadequate reasons to file charges,” but he was arrested and formally charged several months later.

Hochman expressed his sadness to the surviving members of the Davila family, saying Verduzco’s actions were not suitable for anyone entrusted to enforce the law.

“As a police officer, Verduzco knew that driving recklessly under the influence of alcohol at 150 mph is extremely dangerous to human life and could lead to the death of an innocent victim, as tragically did in this case,” says Hochman. “[The three family members] It was photographed immediately. ”

Verduzco is scheduled to be sentenced July 11th and faces three simultaneous terms of 15 years in state prison for murder and a simultaneous three-year term of office for DUI-related crimes.
