No, it’s not back in the 90s. Green Day is the headlining of this year’s Coachella and a welcome throwback to the Fest’s More Rock and Roll roots, serving as evidence that punk icons Billy Joe Armstrong, Mike Dillund and Trecour are permanently cool, even 38 years later.

How many days does Green Day play at Coachella?
They will perform on Saturday, April 12th, on the first weekend of the festival (the band will also perform on Saturday, April 19th on the second weekend of the fest).

Green Day will be on stage at 9:05pm and will perform until 10:45pm. They play Coachella (Aka Aka Main) after Charli XCX and before Travis Scott’s late-night set. Green Day regularly performs almost three-hour shows on tour, but the one-hour, 40-minute festival set gives the band a lot of time to their biggest hits over decades.
Have you played Coachella before on Green Day?
Surprisingly, the band has never played Coachella before this year’s headlining gig. However, Armstrong appeared as a special guest on the alternative in 2014.
Is there any news about Coachella’s Green Day Setlist?
There is no official news on the set list, but you can make educated speculations about what the band will play. Since last summer, Green Day has promoted its latest album Saviors (The Band’s 14th) and has toured to celebrate Dookie’s 30th anniversary and American Idiot’s 20th anniversary. (The tour included a stop at Sophie Stadium, where Linda Linda, Runshid and Smashing Pumpkins opened.) So, along with new tracks like “The American Dream is Killing Me”, “One Eyed Bustard”, “Dilemma”, and “Bobby Socks”, you can expect most of the festival set from the “Major Fat” Doob’s fat doob vibe. “Basket Case” and “When I Come Around” and Rock Opera American Idiot (single of the same name, “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”, “Holiday”, “Wake Me Up when in sents”).
What special guests might appear?
The band could bring out special guests, but at this point there is no lead on who it is. Some speculate that Billy Joe could potentially have another Billy on stage. If Billy Eilish becomes an amazing festive figure on the Charlie XCX set just before Green Day, it would make sense for many to sign up for her to join the trio again, as she would have hoped. After all, the band recently collaborated with Eilish for a memorable performance of “Last Night on Earth” on Fireaid.
