A man was rescued after falling off a 20-foot cliff in Laguna Beach on Saturday.
The exact location has not been revealed, but a social media post published Sunday by the Laguna Beach Lifeguard shows that rescue operations are being hampered by ocean condition and terrain, and resources from other agencies are also needed.
“The high tide and considerable waves created an unstable scaffolding, making traditional exits too dangerous,” the social media post said. “A paramedic from the Long Beach Fire Station stabilized the patient on the scene, and the Orange County Fire Department fire hock helicopter has completed the rescue of the hoist to transport him for further treatment.”

The 38-year-old man rescued was reportedly suffering a life-threatening injury.

The video included in the Instagram post shows helicopter rescue, with several first responders standing along the sturdy coastline to ensure the man leaves safely.
The post also included a warning message to beach fans.
“The Laguna Beach coastline is beautiful and fun to explore, but you need to be careful,” said the Laguna Beach lifeguard. “The rocks are smooth, unstable and often unpredictable. Always check in with your lifeguard before exploring near a cliff or exploring the rocky coast.”
