During the second summer, the Pelicans are nearly dying by dozens of Southern California people, but they are still learning a lot about the cause.
The Huntington Beach Wetlands and Wildlife Care Centre ingested more than 160 animals last week, bringing total cases to 492-659, the organization said in a news release.
Over 50 of these animals are brown pelicans, many suffering from domoic acid poisoning caused by algae flowers.
But as WWCC pointed out that birds are also weak and starving, something else is working. The cause has not yet been determined.
“Because we care for over 52 Pelicans, it’s stressful and many of them haven’t eaten themselves yet.
This reflects the massively surrounded event of last summer.
“We need help,” the WWCC explained, as a result of the growing number of patients and the need for intensive care.
“We need financial support to purchase fish and other necessary feed for 659 patients. We need bath-sized towels and flat bed sheets,” Org says.
