According to multiple media outlets, Los Angeles icon “Jed the Fish”, famous for his work behind the microphone of Rock Radio Staple KROQ, has been killed.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Gould, who was born with Edwin Jed Fish Gould III, was diagnosed only in March and died under hospice care at his home in Pasadena.
He was 69 years old.
“At 6am on April 14th, 2025, the world lost it [of] I’ve read the posts on his Instagram account.
Alice in her time was Gould’s beloved dog.

Gould was hired in 1978 at Kroq-FM (106.7) and led the coveted afternoon drive time until 2012.

His own drummer, Gould, was named Modern Rock Personality of the Year by Billboard Magazine in 1997 and 1999, and was named one of LA’s top radio personalities in 2004, the Times reported.
During the radio, Gould aired alongside many artists and bands, including David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Sting, the Police, and U2.
In a tribute posted to Instagram, Gould’s longtime friend Paul Sinacore, casting director, producer and drummer, wrote:
“Today I lost my dear friend Jed the Fish… Generation’s voice has signed off.”
