The Veterans Affairs Bureau has cancelled a $15.3 million contract “unfairly priced” to overhaul how the government cares about fighter jets, the government’s Department of Efficiency (DOGE) said Monday.
“A great job from @deptvetaffairs cancels an absurd years of multi-year $15.3 million service contract for state X’s Doge post, “Payment Survey Data and Analysis.”

The contract costs the agent $3.9 million a year.
It was replaced by a $5,000 “market price,” Doge said it saved $11.1 million on the lifespan of the contract.

Earlier this month, Doge said the VA is paying $380,000 a month for minor website changes. The contract was renewed and no work was done by one internal VA software engineer spending 10 hours a week.
In February, the VA announced that the layoffs of more than 1,000 employees would allow agents to redirect more than $98 million per year to resources returned to healthcare, benefits and services for VA beneficiaries.
