The LA Organising Committee presented its final venue plan to the International Olympic Committee, which it registered in last week’s update. Updated venue plans include sites in Venice, Downtown LA, Long Beach, San Gabriel Valley, Carson and Anaheim. All baseball games will be held at Dodger Stadium. Long Beach plays the beach volleyball host at Aramitos Beach. The 2028 Olympic medal event program was also approved by the IOC last week. The opening ceremony of the LA 2028 Olympics will be held at the competition until July 14th, 2028 and July 30th, 2028.
Competition venue plans for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics were revealed on Tuesday, when locations for more than a dozen sports, including beach volleyball, surfing and baseball, were revealed.
LA28 presented an updated list of 2028 Olympic venues to the International Olympic Committee and registered it in the plan that was updated last week.
On Tuesday, LA28 will unveil more sports sites, including baseball at Dodger Stadium, squash at Universal Studios in Universal City, beach volleyball at Long Beach and surfing at the San Clemente Coast. The list includes sites such as the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area in the San Fernando Valley, as well as sites such as sites such as Venice, Downtown LA, Long Beach, San Gabriel Valley, Carson and Anaheim.
Here is the complete list of venues announced on Tuesday.
Archery: Carson’s Dignity Health Sports Park. Baseball: All games will take place at Dodger Stadium, which will be used for the exhibition games at the 1984 Olympics. 3×3 basketball and modern pentaslon: Sepulveda Basin recreation area in San Fernando Valley. Beach Volleyball: Long Beach will host at Aramitos Beach. Boxing: The recent revival of the IOC will be playing the final at the Peacock Theatre in downtown LA at Crypto.com Arena. Coastal Row: This new event will make its Olympic debut at Long Beach. Cricket: A temporary site will be built at the fairgrounds in Pomona. Equestrian: Santa Anita Park in Arcadia. Rhythmic exercise: The Gallen Center, located in the Expo Park south of downtown Los Angeles, will host this event and badminton. Target Shooting: Long Beach Convention Center. A temporary area will be built. Shotgun Shooting: Shotgun Center in South Elmonte, east of Los Angeles. Sport Climbing: A temporary climbing wall will be added to the Long Beach Convention Center with the Pacific Ocean as background. Squash: Universal Studios’ Courthouse Plaza is familiar to fans of Back to the Future. Surfing: The lower mount at San Clemente. Target Shooting: A temporary installation will be added to Long Beach Convention Center. Triathlon, road cycle start and marathon start: Venice Volleyball: Honda Center in Anaheim.

Other sports venues have previously been announced, including the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area, the BMO Stadium at the Expo Park, the Los Angeles Convention Center, the crypto.com arena in downtown LA, the Sports Bowl in Pasadena, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, and the Arena at the Crepto Complex, including the City of Los Angeles.

In March, Los Angeles City Council approved changes to its first venue plans for the 2028 Olympics and Paralympics. The city approved the first venue plan in 2017, with the revision announced in the summer.
The amendment requires city consent to clear the path to IOC presentation.
Amidst the suggested changes over the summer, basketball moves to Intuit Dome in Inglewood, and heads to Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles and swims at Sophie Stadium in Inglewood.
No new permanent venue will be built for the 2028 Olympics.
The 2028 Medal Event Program, approved by the International Olympic Committee last week, is what the LA28 Organising Committee called the “Monumental Step Forward,” and features six new mixed gender team events.
The program, which was approved in 2028, has 22 medal events over 351 Paris 2024.
Added in 2028 Mixed Team Events include artistic gymnastics, track and field (4×100 mixed gender relay), golf, archery (combined bow), coastal rowgi beach sprints and table tennis. The competitive format for the new artistic gymnastics mix team event will be finalized and announced at a later date.
The Medal Competition includes an expansion into the fields of women’s soccer and water polo events, a new women’s boxing weight class, an expanded 3×3 basketball field, and medal events for swimming and sports climbing.
Flag Football made its Olympic debut in 2028, and Lacrosse is returning to its medal sports lineup for the first time in over a century. Baseball and softball make Olympic comebacks, while cricket will also be part of the lineup.

The opening ceremony of the 2028 Olympics will be on July 14th, 2028, and will be competing until July 30th, 2028. The LA28 Paralympics begin on August 15th, 2028 and end on August 27th, 2028.
