The 37-year-old woman was charged with murder in Vanneis earlier this month with the death of her 7-year-old daughter, drowning, in Vanneis.
The horrifying incident unfolded on April 11th in the 6800 block of Sepulveda Boulevard.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the location shortly after 5pm for reports of unresponsive children who were not breathing.
The 7-year-old girl whose name is not disclosed was found in the bathtub and declared dead at the scene.
A neighbor told KTLA that the girl lived in a two-storey apartment with her mother. He is now identified with Graciela Castellanos and added that it was the man who, when he arrived home, found the child’s invigorating body and began screaming for help.
The relationship between the young girl and the man with Castellano is currently unknown.

Footage from the scene shows a 37-year-old woman appearing to be in wheelchair detention, appearing to be suffering from a laceration injury, with her wrist resting on the arm of the chair.

“The alleged facts of this incident, where a mother has been accused of intentionally taking the life of a young child, are very tragic and deeply unsettling,” said Da Nathan Hochman, LA County.
The DA’s office has been charged with a number of felony murders and felony attacks on children under the age of eight, pleading not guilty at a hearing Tuesday. She is being held on $2 million bail.
“Our sympathy is passed on to the family and loved ones of this young girl.
If convicted as a charge, the 37-year-old woman faces a maximum prison sentence of 25 years.
She is scheduled to appear in court on June 17 for a preliminary hearing.
