It’s a shame that cameras are not allowed in federal courts because I really want to see Mark Zuckerberg testify.
He was a leadoff witness in an antitrust lawsuit against the Federal Trade Commission’s meta, and in itself was news.
This conflict is the most drastic attempt to tear apart the world’s biggest social networks apart, moving at the heart of how competition is defined.
Holy demands that Zuckerberg testify about his relationship with China’s meta
Since the government dissolved AT&T over 40 years ago, Mega Corporation has not faced the prospect of being torn apart.
The lawsuit was filed during his first Trump term (who couldn’t stand Facebook at the time), actively pursued by Joe Biden, and now he is brought to trial in a courtroom in Washington.
Trump once told me that Facebook was a very threat to society, so he used his efforts to ban Tiktok as an overturned justification.

But since he won his second term, Zach, like many Tech Brothers, has worked with the town’s new sheriff, including a million dollar donations to the president’s first inauguration.
There are reports that when a Facebook run man recently met with Trump, he asked about the possibility of him quitting the lawsuit. Obviously, it didn’t work.
The focus of the trial is the decision that Zuckerberg will buy when Instagram and WhatsApp were small startups.
The fact-checking director warns “crisis” as a meta, and Trump’s dojkt threatens their “honorable and patriotic” work
The FTC’s lead lawyer asked Zuckerberg about a platform intended to focus on showing users interesting third-party content through the news feed.
“As time passed, the ‘interesting’ part was built more than the ‘friend’ part,” Zuckerberg said. He added, “The ‘friends’ part has gone down considerably, but that’s still something we care about.”
Translation: Screw your friends. Very 2010s. I’ve moved on.
Zuckerberg spoke slowly – at least according to reporters there – he was back in his hot seat yesterday. The FTC lawyer pushed him with a stack of emails he sent.
“We really need to act on this right away because Instagram is growing so fast.
“Instagram has become a massive and viable competitor for us with mobile photography. This will become more and more of a photography future.”
Whistleblower tells Senate committee that Meta has weakened US national security and has made it even more comfortable to China
“If Instagram keeps kicking ass into photos, or if Google buys them, over the next few years, you can easily add some of the services that copy what we’re doing now.” It was a flop called Facebook Camera.
In yet another message, Zuck calls Instagram’s growth “really scary” and says, “You might want to consider paying a lot of money for this.” Facebook bought Instagram for $1 billion in 2012 and spent $19 billion on WhatsApp two years later.
In an email to Facebook head Tom Alison, Z offered an alternative.
“Option 1. Double down your friends. One potentially crazy idea is to wipe all the graphs and consider starting again.”
Allison replied: “Option #1 of your suggestion (friendling double down) is feasible given my understanding of how important a friend’s use case is to IG.”

Now we come to the fascinating part.
It is not broken news that Mark’s judgment could be flawed. Remember when he insisted that virtual reality would be the next big thing?
However, he claims that Meta has all sorts of rivals in the “entertainment” areas such as X, Tiktok, YouTube and more, and that Max for Snap, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and HBO was easily added. It’s now about the fight for the eyes. There is only a lot of time in a day. Mindshare is everything.

And with all the rage in the group chat, Meta didn’t work out with such an interaction.
Of course, it is Zuckerberg’s self-interest to testify that he is competing with those who have the screen. But that’s not too far. Please note that Meta has 4 billion active users each month.
