President Donald Trump attended Wednesday evening services and dinner as part of a series of Holy Week events ahead of Easter Sunday this weekend.
Faith leaders from various Christian denominations existed and I heard the president speak to them about the importance of faith, both in governance and in the personal lives of the people. Trump also took the moment to actively promote his recent achievements to Christian beliefs and denounced his efforts to keep the country away from its Christian foundations.
“This is really – I hope I will be one of the great Easter ever, because we have something that we don’t think this country has seen in 100 years. And we will gather together with family and friends to forget the true source of our joy and strength: America has placed trust in God.” “It will always be “in the God we trust.” We will never change that. ”
In his own words in Donald Trump’s relationship with God: “I have been saved.”
“You know there’s a move to change that,” Trump continued. “It won’t happen. You won’t let it happen. Can you imagine a movement to change it?”

Trump also denounced the former administration for not standing up for persecuted Christians around the world, reassuring crowds of faith leaders present that things are different under his administration.
“No one in the rest of the world was fighting for Christians. It was so incredibly incredibly destroyed, killed, wounded, wounded, but they died.
Trump also mentioned anti-Christian bias on display in the United States, noting that attendees have established a Department of Justice task force to eradicate it. Trump also promoted the creation of his White House Faith Office, which replaced the former White House faith-based and neighbouring partnerships.

Trump will continue his Holy Week celebration tomorrow at another prayer service, and on Holy Thursday, he will once again include various faith leaders from various Christian denominations and members of the president’s staff. The event will include Christian hymns sung by musicians associated with Liberty University, a private Christian university in Virginia.
The White House also will host a Passover event Thursday afternoon and reportedly celebrate the Jewish holiday, beginning on April 12th, ending on April 20th.
“With God’s help, we can overcome every challenge, win over every evil, and restore the spirit of American faith for the coming generation,” Trump concluded. “We have a very simple slogan: “Make America great again,” and that’s exactly what we’re doing. ”

In addition to faith leaders, Patty Morin, whose daughter died at the hands of illegal immigrants in 2023, was a major issue in the last election, and also attended Wednesday’s dinner service. She attended an emotional press briefing earlier in the day at the White House, during which she spoke about her daughter.
“Her daughter looks down at Patty today,” Trump added during the event, “it’s been through hell.”
