For the first time in the history of Big Bear Mountain Resort, visitors will have an unusual opportunity to ski and mountain biking in one day this weekend.
Thanks to the strong winter season and the warmth of early spring, the resort will close its winter operations at Bear Mountain and at the same time begin summer operations at Snow Valley.
The Snow Valley Base Area will open for the summer season on April 19th and will offer downhill mountain biking, hiking, scenic sky chair rides and food for the lift. Meanwhile, Bear Mountain is scheduled to close in winter on Sunday, April 20th after 129 days of skiing and snowboarding.
“It’s a unique opportunity to hit a big bear double,” the resort said in a statement.
