Neighbors in a small town in Riverside County are waiting for prompt action against dozens of RVs illegally parked and brought in from industrial cities.
On Tuesday, Wildmer city officials issued a notice that gave local residents 48 hours to remove the 48-hour trailer from the lot after they raised safety concerns. If the owner doesn’t meet the deadline, the city says it does its own and does the Foot Black Series, RV Company, The Bill.
Jack Hong Wei Q, owner of the Black Series, told NBCLA on Wednesday it would be impossible to move all trailers before Thursday’s deadline.
“We need to discuss with the city of Wildemar about what we have to do and we’re going to work with them,” Qui said. “There’s not much we do at this point, so we may have to donate our trailers to the community.”
Up to 70 trailers remained in the lot on Palomar Street and Timothy Road on Thursday evening.
Neighbors say they hope that a lot of vehicles will appear in the lot this morning and take the RV.
“We’ve had at least 40 vehicles this morning. People in Temecula, LA and Orange County were looking to see if there’s a free trailer or if they’d get a discount,” said John Hume, who lives in the area.
Neighbors say the trailer has been an issue for the community since the beginning of the year they first appeared. The same RV has been scrutinized in industrial cities recently and is being occupied by homeless people.
The RV is vacant in a new location in Wildomar, but residents still consider it a safety hazard.
“It’s not just the trailer here, it’s all that comes with it,” said RVS neighbor Michelle Hearn. “The fires around here spread so quickly, so that’s a big concern, we’re across the street and I have over 100 livestock.”
The city tells the NBCLA that it is waiting for a warrant from the court.
