The first of this type of robot control stores is currently operating in Southern California.
Venhub, an artificial intelligence and robotics technology company, has opened a completely autonomous smart store in Glendale and North Hollywood.
It may look like a big vending machine, but it behaves differently.
Through the Venhub app, customers can view, select and purchase items from up to 400 convenience stores without the need for staff assistance.
This reduces building and operating costs, and saves 31% according to Ven Hub.
“There’s no need to worry about workers’ comp, contractions, crime, employees, people who don’t show up,” said Shahan Ohanessian, CEO of Venmore. “And more, the robots don’t take leave, work seven days a week, and don’t even celebrate their holidays.”
The Smart Store comes with 6 smart refrigerated cabinets, 4 dry refrigerated cabinets and 4 delivery windows. You can also serve multiple customers at once.
The windows are also bulletproof to prevent crime.
“Consumers will save. Store owners will be more profitable. Store owners will not face crime because they have no cash inside,” Ohanesian said.
