Nintendo announced a new date for Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders on Friday. This was originally scheduled to begin on April 9th, but was pushed back due to President Trump’s extensive tariffs.
Pre-orders for the new console will officially begin on April 24th and will be available nationwide on June 5th.
Pricing for the Nintendo Switch 2 remains unchanged since the company’s April 2nd announcement. The standard model will be available for $449.99, while the bundle featuring Mario Kart World is available for $499.99.

Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bannanza are released along with the console, with prices steady at $79.99 and $69.99 respectively. The digital and physical editions are available at the same price range.
However, Nintendo has confirmed that some accessories on the Switch 2 look at price adjustments compared to previously announced figures. The company cited “changes in the market” as a reason for its pricing.
“We apologise for the delay in pre-orders at our retail destinations, and hopefully this will reduce some of the uncertainty our customers may be experiencing,” Nintendo said in a statement. “We appreciate the patience of our customers and share our excitement to experience the Nintendo Switch 2 from June 5th, 2025.”
As of April 18th, the proposed retail prices for the updated manufacturer’s Switch 2 accessories are as follows:
