We’re completely rsv on this “ignorant” reboot.
Alicia Silverstone has learned the classic 1995 film “E! News Learned.”
The 48-year-old will be executive-producing the series along with Jordan Weiss and Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. Amy Heckerling, who wrote and directed the 90s film, will also be running an executive-produced follow-up series with one of the original film’s producers, Robert Lawrence.
And while the plot for upcoming shows has yet to be revealed, the series has already found a home on streaming platform Peacock.
E! The news reached out to Silverstone representatives for comment but did not respond.
This is not the first time a “ignorant reboot” has come to mind around Hollywood. In 2020, another spinoff series was developed at CBS Studios. This is going to be producing an upcoming show. In that iteration, Dionne (originally played by Stacey Dash) was set to search for a missing Cher. However, the following year the mystery comedy twist was discarded.

A few years after “Clueless,” starring Paul Rudd, Brittany Murphy and Donald Feson alongside Silverstone and Dash, Silverstone became a fan favorite.
“I discovered that cheles on the page are materialistic and unattractive, and to be honest, it’s really annoying,” she told Vogue in 2020.
Silverstone continued. “She loves Dad so much! And she’s trying to become a supportive friend, so I’m just putting all my love and heart in this character and putting these other aspects firmly in it.”
