California will soon resume its e-bike voucher program, offering eligible residents up to $2,000 for electric bike purchases.
The state-funded program is designed to help California declines and middle-income people trade car trips, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce commuting costs.
Incentive funds can be applied at the time of purchase as a discount for the costs of qualified e-bikes and related accessories. Covered items include helmets, bicycle locks, racks and baskets, fenders, mirrors, reflective clothing, assemblies and shipping charges, and related sales tax, if not equipped.

To qualify, you will need to purchase accessories while your incentive voucher is being redeemed for an e-bike. Vouchers are not available for individual transactions for accessories, and purchases are limited to one item per accessory type.
To qualify, the applicant must be at least 18 years old and have a current valid California driver’s license, AB 60 license, or state ID.
Additionally, participants must obtain household income capped at 300% of federal poverty levels to meet income requirements. For example, a single household should earn under $45,180 a year, while a family of four must remain under $93,600.
The program’s application window begins at 5pm on April 29th and offers just 1,000 vouchers.
