An investigation into the death is underway after the body of a woman was found on the Los Angeles River on Friday.
Los Angeles police received a report of the body on a river near Riverside Drive on five highways at 7:42am

It is unknown when the woman died and how long her body had been there.
No further details, including her identity, were released as authorities continue to investigate.
