A Peris man was arrested and booked for murder after welfare checks led to the discovery of a human body, Riverside County officials said.
According to a press release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, lawmakers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Glimmerway, Perris after welfare checks were requested for the woman to live there at 9:40 a.m. Friday.
“On the arrival of the agent, they found evidence of the murder,” RSO said.
Suspect sought in robbery of two homes in Los Angeles
After securing the scene, deputies handed over the investigation to the sheriff’s central murder unit.
The deceased was not immediately identified.
Authorities later determined the suspect was 44-year-old John Crew Cheese. He was later safely arrested and booked for murder at the Robert Presley Detention Center.

Search records for the inmates show that his first court appearance will be Tuesday morning.
