After the toughest times, the lives of a California man quickly changed.
Earlier this month, the California lottery said it became an instant billionaire after a Sandy Liquor customer from Sandy Liquor in San Luis Obispo won with Scratcher. Now, according to the Los Angeles Times, the winner is a homeless man.
The news comes from Wilson Summer, the owner of Sandy’s liquor. Wilson Summern said the winner has been a long-time customer and “deserves every penny.”
“I was very excited, even more excited than he was,” Summeran said via the Times. “He’s a nice guy, he deserves every penny… I was very excited that it happened to someone who deserved it, and he actually needed it.”
Mega Million tickets are more expensive
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous for the story, plans to buy a million dollar home and car.
Samaan enthusiastically shared his lottery victory on his Sandy’s Liquor Instagram page. As a vendor, the store receives $5,000 from the California lottery.
According to the Times, the winner and Saman have an intimate friendship. Summeron drove him to Fresno’s California lottery office after hooking his victory ticket.
The victory is still verified by the California lottery.
