A man who said he had bitten an officer while police were arrested for “unstable,” died after experiencing a medical emergency while in custody early Sunday morning.
According to a press release from the Fullerton Police Department, officers observed the man at Lemon Park after 12:30am.
“The man was in City Park after the store was closed and appeared to carry a smoldering cardboard box,” Fullerton police said at their release.
Additional officers arrived at the park to help. However, the man became uncooperative and began to resist physically, police said. Eventually, several officers gained control of the man and put him in custody.
