President Donald Trump is “full of hope” Russia and Ukraine can make a deal this week after the temporary Easter ceasefire between the two countries ends.

“Hopefully Russia and Ukraine will make a deal this week,” Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social.

“Then both start large corporations in the United States.

The war between the two countries has been raging for over three years, claiming the lives of tens of thousands of people on both sides.

Ukrainian President Voldimia Zelensky accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of violating the ceasefire agreement, saying “The Russian troops have violated Putin’s ceasefire more than 2,000 times.”

“The total number of Russian ceasefire promises reached 2,935 throughout the day. Pokrovsk had the most shells and attacks,” writes Zelensky.

“The Russian promise of perfect silence also did not spread in the direction of Kursk. In total, there were 96 Russian attacks, 1,882 artillery fires in our positions, and 812 in particular were used more than 950 times with heavy weapons.” – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Zelenskyy added that Ukraine remains a mirror image, “responding to silence by silence on the strike to protect Russia’s strike.”

“Action is always more eloquent than words,” Zelenskyy said.

Putin ordered his troops to halt all military activities along the frontline of the temporary Easter ceasefire until midnight in Moscow on Sunday.

Zelenskyy previously said that if the Easter ceasefire actually holds in place, he would suggest extending it longer.

“That reveals Russia’s true intentions, because 30 hours is enough to make headlines, but not for a genuine confidence building measure,” he said. “Thirty days can give peace a chance.”

Zelensky added that “there is no faith in the words that come from Moscow” after Russia reported that it appears that Russia has broken their ceasefire.

“We know how Moscow operates, and we are prepared for something. The Ukrainian defence forces act rationally – respond kindly. There is a proper response for every Russian strike.”

Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa. reflects Zelensky, saying that the possibility of Russia supporting the deal “is entirely part of Vladimir Putin” and that CBS “facing the people.”

“As far as I know, a man never kept his words in any context,” Fitzpatrick said. “So we need to know what we are dealing with. Our government hopes they know who is dealing with Vladimir Putin and who is dealing with him. He is not the man of his words. He is not interested in peace. I hope he gets there.”

Fitzpatrick added that Secretary of State Marco Rubio felt “doing a great job and understand Putin.”

“He understands the dynamics of the Russian-Ukraine conflict and the history there. And I have full faith in his ability to entrust a fair and fair agreement,” Fitzpatrick explained. “But this is important to remember, and this applies to all the contracts we promote as a nation. Ultimately, it is up to the state to accept and adhere to these terms.”

“President Zelensky, the Ukrainian people, desperately wants peace. They always wanted peace. They wanted Russia to accidentally invade them and get it back. But it must be just and lasting peace,” he said.

The temporary ceasefire came on Thursday after Trump said he would be signed with Ukraine in a week. Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent said it is likely to be signed on April 26th.

A recent report by Bloomberg suggests that the US has eased its demand for repayment of aid for Ukraine’s fight against Russia from $300 billion to $100 billion, but details of the contract remain relatively unknown.
