Authorities fatally shot a man at Leseda on Sunday evening, when he allegedly fired a gun in a helicopter at the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to the LAPD, the fatal shooting began around 6:25pm with a call to police about a deadly weapon attack in the 6400 block of Receda Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers said they saw a man near the intersection of Receda and the Victory Boulevard, come across his apartment.
LAPD helicopter also responded to the scene, reporting that the suspect appears to have fired a handgun on the airship. The first report showed that the helicopter was not hit.
Police then pursued the suspect and were forced into the rear alley of the apartment where police shot took place. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Station responded to the incident and declared the man who died at the scene.
The department’s force investigation department is investigating the shooting. The suspect’s handgun will be recovered and inspected along with video and physical evidence, authorities said.
No officers or civilians were injured during the incident, and no notable suspects were found, police said.
Police records show that this is the 11th person who was hit by a LAPD shooting in 2025.
