Police confirmed with KTLA, two people were shot dead in the expo park on Monday.
Los Angeles Police Department officials responded to reports of shootings in the Western Avenue and Expo Boulevard area after 4:30pm
At the scene, police found two gunshot wound victims, described by police as a young man, an unknown condition of about 20 years old, and a man between the ages of 30 and 40 who was unconscious but breathing.
Previous reports from authorities suggested that the young people are teenagers. His exact age, and identity, have been released.
Both victims were rushed to the hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department and paramedics, who were declared that the two victims’ elders were dead.
On April 21, 2025, a teenage boy and an adult man were rushed to the hospital after a shooting erupted in the Expo Park.
Aerial footage of the scene showed the intense presence of police, where intersections have become the norm for their first responders. In footage posted to the Citizen app, investigators appeared to be focused on the Expo/Western Metro Stop.
Preliminary reports suggest that the two suspects fled the scene after the shooting, although police have not yet confirmed the details.
The intersection is expected to remain closed for several hours while police investigate.
In an alert posted on social media, Metro officials said buses on the E-line will replace trains between Expo/Vermont and Expo/Crenshaw Station due to police activities. Additionally, the train will return to Santa Monica in Expo/Crenshaw and to East LA in Expo/Vermont.
According to the metro, the bus on line 207 detours from the west to Normandy between Jefferson and MLK.
“Currently, the train runs in both directions between Expo/Crenshaw and Expo/Vermont, but the Expo/Western Station remains closed due to police activities. To reach Expo/Western, use the Expo/Crenshaw and Expo/Vermont bus shuttles,” Metro said in the update.
