On Tuesday, Attorney General Pam Bondy hosted cabinet officials throughout the Trump administration for the first meeting of a new interagency task force aimed at eradicating “anti-Christian bias” within the federal government.

At a meeting Tuesday, Bondy described the task force as intended to correct “abuse” under the Biden-led Department of Justice and in other federal agencies prior to Trump’s second term of office.

“As President Donald Trump said, the Biden administration engaged in a terrible pattern of targeting peaceful Christians while ignoring violent, anti-Christian crimes,” Bondy told a small group of reporters. “The president is right.”

Bondi was joined on Tuesday by a long list of senior federal ministers, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegses, FBI Director Kash Patel, Secretary of Homeland Security Christie Noem, HHS Director Robert F. Kennedy and Jr.

Other senior agency staff were also present.

Bondy also used the conference to highlight some of the actions the Trump administration took to crack down on anti-Christian prejudices.

So far, the Justice Department has dropped three ongoing lawsuits against pro-life drugs, helping to protect them from what Bondy and others described as weaponizations such as pro-life groups.

Ultimately, “The First Amendment is not just a line of the Constitution; it is the cornerstone of our American memory,” Bondy said. “It guarantees that all citizens have the right to speak freely, worship freely, and live according to their conscience without government interference. It is not a favor to protect Christians from prejudice. It supports the rule of law and fulfills their constitutional promises.”

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the group used the meeting to plan communications from individuals who were harmed as a result of “anti-Christian sentiment” under the Biden administration, and heard this bias in various ways that have emerged in the department and institutions.

That portion of the meeting was closed to the press.

Shortly before reporters were escorted from the room, Fox News asked Justice Department officials and other members of the task force whether to share examples of anti-Christian bias within their agency, or a personal story they had planned to touch on in the closed indoor parts of the meeting.

As attending staff did not answer questions immediately, Department of Justice officials told Fox News and other reporters that they would distribute more information after the meeting.

Trump first created a task force through an executive order in February with the goal of eradicating “anti-Christian targets and discrimination” within the government.

The president also chose Bondi to lead the task force. He praised him as someone he trusted, “to prosecute anti-Christian violence and vandalism in our society.”

The first meeting of the task force comes days after politics ordered the Trump administration to send internal cables to State Department employees to report instances of colleagues displaying “anti-Christian bias” as part of the task force’s initiative.

The internal cables encourage employees to share information via tip forms, allow them to keep their responses anonymous and reportedly sent to embassies around the world.

“Biden’s Justice Department has abused and targeted Christians,” Trump said earlier this year. “The living Christian has been arrested and imprisoned for peacefully praying outside the abortion clinic… no longer available!”
