Exclusive: National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard introduced two Intelligence Agency experts to the Justice Department for criminal prosecution on Wednesday regarding the leak of confidential information, Fox News Digital learned.

An ODNI official told Fox News Digital that intelligence community experts allegedly leaked information classified by the Washington Post and the New York Times. The third crime introduction is “in the middle” to the DOJ.

Officials told Fox News Digital that intelligence community experts should move “as a warning.”

“The leakage of information that has been classified as the politicization of our intelligence must endanger and end the security of our country,” Gabbard told Fox News Digital. “People who leaked classified information will be held liable to the fullest extent of the law.”

“Today, I introduced two Intelligence Email community leaks to the Department of Justice for criminal referrals, including a recent illegal leak to the Washington Post,” Gabbard said. “The criminals in these deep states have leaked information classified for partisan political purposes in order to undermine President Trump’s agenda.”

Gabbard added: “We look forward to working with the Department of Justice and the FBI to investigate, terminate and prosecute these offenders.”

ODNI officials said the referral move to criminal prosecution is the first step in the process of “holding these individuals accountable.”

Officials explained the process in their decision-making, informed Fox News Digital that they had conducted an internal review and sent a criminal referral to the Department of Justice. The DOJ then sends a referral to the FBI and launches a formal criminal investigation.

“We are actively investigating other leaks and will pursue further criminal referrals as guaranteed,” an official told Fox News Digital. “This should be taken as a warning if any Intelligence Community bureaucrats considering leaks to the media.”

Officials added that the Trump administration “identifies the leaker and the leak will face legal consequences.”

DNI Tulsi Gabbard moves to terminate and cancel security clearance for NSA employees tied to an explicit chat room

Earlier this month, Gabbard established a new task force to restore transparency and accountability for the intelligence news community. Fox News Digital first reported on the Director’s Initiative Group (DIG), which began by investigating weaponization within the intelligence news community.

Officials said the group will work to eradicate politicization and expose unfair disclosures of classified intelligence. Additionally, it works to declassify information “helpful in the public interest.”

Gabbard also takes responsibility for employees who have joined sexually explicit NSA chat rooms and pursues actions against those who have committed fraudulent leaks of confidential information within the intelligence community.
