A parolee, who has fallen asleep in his car near a community mailbox, faces multiple fees after awakening and finds Officer Hemet interested in why he was there.

Officers were sent to the 1300 block of Department Court at about 4:45am Thursday to follow up with reports of suspicious vehicles parked near their mailboxes and found tanned and gold Jeep Cherokees.

“The vehicle was occupied by an adult man, but was later identified as the story of 42-year-old Naishan. He appears to be unconscious in the driver’s seat while the vehicle is running,” Hemet police posted on Facebook.

The officer then learned that the story was about probation and observed a lock picking tool on the ground near the driver’s door. Additional suspicious items such as socket wrenches, several access cards and brass keys marked “USPS properties” are visible inside the vehicle, police said.

The emails collected will be sorted by Hemet police officers. (Hemet Police Station) The suspect will be taken into custody in connection with an investigation into theft of a mailbox in Hemet. (Hemet Police Department) Keys are seen in connection with mailbox theft investigation. (Hemet Police Station) Recovered mail can be viewed at Hemet. When you search for the suspect and SUV police that came up with a list of the following items:

A clear buggy containing about 1.88 grams of the tested substance that is positive for methamphetamine. We have confirmed that there are multiple debit and credit cards belonging to individuals other than stories, some of which are victims of recent fraud. A total of 36 access cards (including EBT, debit, credit and insurance cards) linked to at least 25 different individuals. Hundreds of mail, including delicate financial and government documents, originating from addresses in Hemet, Temecula, Murieta, Winchester, Menifee, Southgate, Compton and other regions. Four USPS master keys and a modified socket tool thought to be used in email theft.

The story was arrested and booked for possession of stolen property, possession of robbery tools, possession of controlled substances (methamphetamine), possession of access cards for more than 10 victims, and possession of access cards with intent to fraud.

Residents were reminded to report suspicious activity involving mailboxes and vehicles parked in unusual locations. Anyone with more information about this case can contact 951-765-2423 (951-765-2423) or email paguila@hemetpd.gov.
