LEGOLAND CA is set to reopen its newly improved drive school attraction next month after moving to another part of the park to make way for the first time in history indoor roller coaster.
The driving school and junior driving school were first closed almost eight months ago due to the ground relocation of the new space-themed coaster and its companion land, the LEGO Galaxy.
Legoland did not say where the rides would move when the closures were closed, but the parent company notified the Carlsbad Planning Commission, which will replace the “fun town” police and the Fire Academy attraction as part of the “LEGO Galaxy” project.
Legoland California will debut a new LEGO festival for a limited time
The work of moving a longtime vehicle that first debuted over 20 years ago is now almost complete. Children ages 3-12 can visit the road again to get their Legoland driver’s license, which begins May 21, according to the theme park.
Outside of the changing landscape, the next generation of student drivers in driving schools have fresh tracks to enjoy, incorporating roundabouts, intersections and even car washes with bubbles that rain as student drivers roll.
Design rendering of LEGO “Space Port” houses the new Galactic Rollercoaster in Legolland California.
Work continues as the new “LEGO Galaxy” land, its core rides, and intergalactic coasters are housed in a 44-foot tall, 32,000-square-foot LEGO-themed “Spaceport.” According to the park, the property is scheduled to be released in 2026, but no exact date has been announced.
Once it opens, the roller coaster will be added to Legoland California, which opened in 2004 by the coaster Auros on Dino Island and is now known as the Dino Valley.
