La Metro has released the opening day for its new, large transit hub near LAX.
The LAX/Metro Transit Center, located on 96th Avenue and Airport Boulevard in Westchester, will be officially open to the public on June 6th, Metro officials have announced.
Upon opening, the largest new stations in the metro network will be located along the K and C lines, with light rail stations, bus plazas, bike sharing, bike parking and other amenities.
It also provides direct connection to LAX through automated people movers at Los Angeles World Airport. The LAX bus shuttle will serve the station during that time.

“When people movers finally open, we really become an international airport that connects people from literally within the terminal to the world beyond the metro,” said Janice Hahn, the county overseer and chairman of the Metro Commission.
The opening of the LAX/Metro Transit Center is a major milestone for the future of transportation in Los Angeles. Once the automated People Mover is officially launched, LAX will be offering direct train services for the first time in history in time for the LA region to host many high-profile sporting events, such as the 2028 Olympics, the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2027 Super Bowl LXI.

The South Bay Area Metro station is also expected to be the southern tip of the final Sepulveda Transit Corridor, a planned rail line connecting the San Fernando Valley South via the Sepulveda Pass to the major population centers in the Greater Los Angeles Basin.
The LAX/Metro Transit Center is another part of the LAX puzzle as it continues to plan to modernize the infrastructure of the aging airport, improve the traveler experience, and reduce traffic inside and outside the terminals, increasing connectivity to local transit and ride-sharing services.
Automated People Movers will pass through Century Boulevard and connect airport travelers to a ground transport hub, a facility with all local car rental companies under one roof, and a new metro station.
