Kristi Noem’s Secretary to Homeland Security (DHS) revealed in a podcast this week that the wallet was described as “professional” at a restaurant in Washington, DC.
The wallet was photographed by a white man wearing a mask on Sunday, and the bag contained $3,000 in cash and personal documents such as a passport, keys, driver’s license and DHS badge.
“In fact, it was sort of a shocking thing because it was sitting by my feet. I actually felt my wallet and he hooked it with his legs, took it a few steps away and made it a drug, then dropped my coat on it and took it,” Noem said on “Vinsshaw.”
“I felt that, but I thought my grandson was kicking me in the foot. But it was done very professionally and this always happens to people and they live in a community where this is dangerous and I reaffirm why I am here,” she added. “My job is to make my community safer each day. President Trump recognizes that his family doesn’t have to live with any kind of violence in his life.”

A Homeland Security spokesman previously told Fox News Digital that Noem’s “every family was in town, including children and grandchildren.”
Noem said in an interview with the podcast that she is not sure why she was targeted, but that the investigation is ongoing.

“I think I was a busy grandma with four grandchildren under the age of four. And while I was looking after them, eating food and enjoying the family, certainly my wallet was even touching my legs.
“So I think we need to be aware of it, but we are making sure that there are consequences for those who make a living from hurting others,” Noem added.
