Where Donald Trump stands with Americans 100 days before his second presidency

President Donald Trump has given a big thumbs up regarding his work performance during his second mission tour at the White House.

“I think we’re doing really well,” Trump told reporters last week.

When he brought the 100-day mark closer to his second administration, the president predicted that “we will be the strongest country to date.”

Trump has actively advocated administrative authorities in his second term, overturning long-standing government policies and significantly cut the federal workforce through avalanches of drastic and controversial executive orders and actions.

However, the latest polls suggest that Americans are less excited about Trump’s job piloting the country.

The president has 44% approval and 55% disapproved in the latest Fox News National Poll, which took place April 18-21.

The number of presidents is also underwater in polls released in the past few days by the ABC News/Washington Post (42% approval – 55% disapproval), New York Times/Siena College (42%-54%), CNN (43%-57%), Reuters/Ipsos (42%-53%), PEW Study (40%-59%), and AP/Norc (42%-59%), and AP/Norc (42%-59%), AP/Norc (42%-59%), AP-59%), AP-59%), AP-59%), AP-59%).

Not all, but not all, of the recent national opinion survey.

Contributing to the decline was a growing concern over the economy and inflation, and the pressing issue of former President Joe Biden’s approval rate well below the majority of the presidency. Additionally, Trump’s blockbuster tariff announcement earlier this month sparked a trade war with some of the country’s top trading partners, causing massive sales in financial markets, raising concerns about the recession.

Trump’s approval rate for the economy was 38% in a Fox News poll, with only one-third of respondents approving jobs he handles inflation and tariffs.

The Fox News poll is the latest in showing massive partisan disparities against Trump.

Nearly 10 Republicans were asked to give thumbs up to the president, with 90% of Democrats unhappy with Trump’s work. Almost three-quarters of independents disapprove of the performance of the president’s profession.

Daron Shaw, a member of the Fox News Decision team and a Republican partner in the Fox News polls, said it was a “consolidation of Republican bases.”

“The party has completely solidified behind him,” added Shaw, a University of Texas political professor and chairman.

But Trump’s overall approval rate is close to where he stood 100 days after his first term in 2017, when he received 45% approval at Fox News Polling.

According to Fox News Polling, President Donald Trump, whose overall approval rate is approaching 100 days after his first term in 2017, speaks to reporters aboard Air Force 1 on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

So how is Trump piling up with his presidential predecessor?

“John F. Kennedy and Dwight Eisenhower had the highest first-quarter average ratings, both above 70%, while Jimmy Carter, Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan averaged between 60% and 69%. On the President’s approval rating.

Gallup stressed that “Trump is the only president to have approved less than 50% in the first quarter.”

However, enjoying a promising recognition rating from the gate does not guarantee a positive and productive presidency.

Carter’s polls sank into negative territory less than two years after his presidency, and was overwhelmingly defeated in his bid for reelection in 1980.

Then President Joe Biden will speak at the State Department on January 13, 2025 in Washington, DC (AP) at the end of his presidency.

Biden has received 54% approval in Fox News Polling Office’s Fox News Polling Office, and in the first six months of his single term as president, his numbers hovered from low to his 50s.

However, Biden’s numbers sank into negative territory in the late summer and fall of 2021. In the wake of highly critical treatment of the turbulent US exit from Afghanistan, inflation has skyrocketed amid the surge in immigration that has crossed the US along the southern border with Mexico.

Biden’s approval rate remained underwater throughout the presidency, bidding for reelection last summer.

“He just got lame and didn’t recover,” Shaw said of Biden.
