Supreme Court temporarily suspends Venezuela’s deportation
Former federal prosecutor Jonathan Fahey joins Fox News Live to discuss the Supreme Court’s decision to temporarily block the deportation of Venezuelan immigrants and consider the deportation of suspected MS-13 gang members to El Salvador.
In an interview this week, President Donald Trump said he would never “deny” the Supreme Court and repeatedly respected the lower district courts. He said his administration is facing accusations that it is intertwined with various federal judges and violates the order.
Trump released these statements in an interview with Time Magazine released Friday. The broader interviews have collided with many topics, including the state of the US economy and Trump’s plan to enact mutual tariffs that are expected to exert power this summer. However, one of the main themes was the federal courts.
Trump has been pressed several times by Time’s political correspondent, Eric Corteressa, about the judicial views and whether he is committed to complying with all Supreme Court orders.
“I certainly believe in the court system,” Trump replied.

Trump also said he is committed to competing with lower courts.
“That’s true. All courts,” he said.
The rather harmless exchange hides the heated debate that unfolds in courts around the country as Trump’s lawyers defend his early executive orders and halt the wave of lawsuits and emergency control orders aimed at blocking or restricting them.
The biggest battles focus on the Trump administration’s use of the 1798 wartime law, alien enemy law, to deport certain migrants to El Salvador.
Trump’s use of law was kicked out to the Supreme Court for emergency review in the case of Kilmer Abrego Garcia, a Maryland MS-13 member who was deported to El Salvador last month. Trump officials have admitted that his removal was a “management error.”

Trump officials resisted a court order to promote Abrego Garcia’s return to the United States. A federal judge in Maryland described this week as a “willful, malicious refusal to comply with his discovery obligation,” including daily updates on where he is and an effort to bring him back to the US soil.
“The Supreme Court ruled what you have to take home 9-0 [Abrego Garcia]. “You haven’t,” Corteressa said, referring to the unanimous decision from the High Court this month that ordered Trump to promote his release.”
“Are you not following the Supreme Court?” he asked.
Trump responded that he left the issue with his lawyers, including US Attorney General Pam Bondy.

“They feel that the orders said something very different than what you were saying,” Trump told him.
“I don’t give them instructions… Frankly, bringing him back and trying him again doesn’t bother me, but I’ll leave it to my lawyer.”
In particular, Trump also said he has not asked the outlet to return Abrego Garcia to President El Salvador Naive Buquere.
Bukel traveled to Washington earlier this month to meet Trump and other Cabinet officials at the White House. They were asked directly about Abrego Garcia during the availability of a short press. Bondy told reporters that it was “until El Salvador.”
Her remarks touched on a new wave of concern and urged U.S. District Judge Paula Sinis to order the courts a “stimulating” rapid discovery process to determine whether the US is making good attempts to secure his interests.
“Well, I’ve not been asked to ask him a lawyer,” Trump told the outlet about why Time Magazine wasn’t making any efforts to promote the release and why he asked Buckel to release him.

“No one asked me to ask him that question except you,” Trump told Corteressa.
“But I’ll leave that decision to the lawyer. At this point, they just don’t want to do it. They say we are fully compliant with the Supreme Court.”
