The popular fast food chain is partnering with a hilarious duo in search of two new menu items.
Celebrities from comedians Anthony Anderson and Cedric are grill enthusiasts who have launched their own BBQ lifestyle brand called AC BBQ.
“Some restaurants think that sandwiches in sauce are BBQ and miss the soul of true smoked meat. But Irby is setting a straightforward record with two new sandwiches that exceed expectations,” Irby said on its website. “With a rich, smoky flavour of slow-smoked meat and sauce developed by Anthony and Cedric, these sandwiches drip into the quality and credibility you’d expect from your favorite Pitmaster.”
Arby’s will combine two new menu items with specialty premium meat and AC BBQ sauce, featuring 13 hours of hickory smoked brisket and 6 hours of hickory smoked pull pork.
The 1/4 pound pork sandwich features a smoked pork that has been smoked for six hours on top of hickory wood. It is topped with a sweet, garlic pickled apple and served with toasted sesame bread.
The 1/4 pound brisket sandwich is a 13-hour slow smoked brisket topped with the same sweet garlic dill pickles and served with toasted sesame bread.
Both sandwiches can be paired with two new AC BBQ sauces.
Cedric’s Sweet Bath Thin Brown Sugar Sauce: A delicious sweet and tangy BBQ sauce made with slow-cooked brown sugar creates a rich, meaty sandwich and a perfectly melted malt and caramel flavour. Anthony’s Spicy Chipotle Smoked Sauce: This sauce brings heat with chipotle pepper and offers a smoky, spicy kick that perfectly complements the smoky meat. Its intricate, aromatic flavor makes it a perfect pairing for both pulled pork and brisket.
“AC BBQ is a labor of love,” said Anthony Anderson and entertainer Cedric. “We put so much time and energy into this product. We wanted to partner with Irby so that people across the country can feel like they’re meeting us as they chew their sandwiches.
The new sandwiches, along with barbecue sauce, will be available at participating Arby locations nationwide starting at $5.99 on April 28th.
