The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for a man who sexually assaulted a woman on the LA Metro Bus in East Hollywood earlier this month.
It occurred around 9:55pm on April 12, according to a LAPD news release issued Monday.
The bus was travelling through East Hollywood near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Vermont Avenue as the man sat in the back of the 33-year-old woman.
Police say the man began talking to the woman before he wielded a knife and demanded money. She told him she had nothing, so he sexually assaulted her “in a few minutes.”
The bus was eventually stopped at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Figuero A Street, at which point the suspect left and disappeared on foot. Police said he was heading south to 40th.
An investigation has begun and police are seeking public help in identifying the man caught on bus surveillance cameras.
