A Tulea County man was arrested Friday afternoon after allegedly pointing out a handgun loaded onto a couple and a toddler during a road rage incident in Ventura.
According to the Ventura Police Department, it happened around 3:15pm on Friday when a 24-year-old man, his 25-year-old wife and young child were traveling westwards on the 126 highway.
The family says the suspect, identified as Donovan Jensen, 36, of Exeter, has begun to actively seduce him for several miles.
Both vehicles eventually left at Wells Road and continued south into the city.
The victim told police that Jensen pulled by the car and pointed a handgun at his family during the verbal exchange, screamed at them and drove them away.
The family later called 911 to report what had happened.
Ventura police officers drove nearby and carried out a traffic stop. At that point, Jensen confirmed that he had a legally owned luggage gun and carried a valid hidden carry permit.
Through the investigation, police determined that Jensen had actually pointed to the family to the firearm.
He was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and child danger and booked at the Ventura County Jail, police said.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Ventura Police Station at 805-650-8010.
