Investigators at the Los Angeles Police Department are seeking the public’s help in identifying three suspects reportedly involved in a brutal hate crime against a 61-year-old transgender woman.

In a news release, detectives from the LAPD Rampart division said the violence first unfolded in the victims’ stores on April 8th.

“The victim refused to make his progress and he left. However, the suspect returned a while later and pushed her to the ground,” police said. “The suspect sexually assaulted the victim and discovered that she was a transgender woman. The suspect separated and threatened to kill the victim.”

The same suspect went back with the other two suspects several more times and committed hate crimes against the victim,” police added.

Surveillance video of several attacks obtained by the KTLA can be seen fiercely attacking a woman identified as Sabrina de La Pena in a store on the second floor in the Westlake area.

Security cameras have repeatedly filmed violent assaults on transgender women in Los Angeles since April 8, 2025. 2025. As it is difficult to see footage of the attack, one of the men rushes to hide just outside the door on a skateboard, investigators say it brutally surprised.

The same suspect is then seen dragging her to the balcony of the building, and she tries to protect herself and begs her hard while another suspect watches.

In another instance, police said the suspect had sprinkled pepper spray on Delapeña, dyed her with an unknown liquid in the final incident and tried to stun her with a taser.

Authorities hope to help identify the three suspects, but they also believe there may be additional, unreported victims of the trio.

Anyone who may have been a victim or has information on identifying the three suspects will be urged to contact Rampart Division Robbery Detectives at 213-484-3495.

Those who want to remain anonymous can call it the LA Regional Crime Stopper Hotline at 800-222-8477.
