The domestic abuse suspect is in custody after hours of barricaded at a standoff with Santa Barbara deputies on Monday, officials confirmed.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect as 40-year-old Mauririo Caredo.
Lawmakers responded to a newly reported domestic conflict in the 4400 block of Hollister Avenue around 8:30 a.m.
However, by the time the deputies arrived, Carrie had already fled to her home.
The sheriff’s office said deputies at the scene learned of three unresolved warrants for felony domestic violence against the man and the court’s charges against a petty emptyptop before re-routing to the house that was carried.
Deputies then travelled to Carried’s home in the 300 block of Stephens Road, next to the Santa Barbara Golf Club.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered that Carriedo was trapped in what the sheriff’s office described as “a converted garage apartment,” and refused to allow him to come out.

“Deputies spoke with Carriedo for the next two hours, discouraging him from escalating the situation and encouraging him to surrender peacefully,” the sheriff’s office said at its release.
After that, after 11am, lawmakers forced entry and deployed pepperball stimulants at home.
The sheriff’s office said deputies had taken Corriedo into custody, but noted that he and some of the deputies had an exposure response to Pepperball.
However, no serious injuries have been reported.
Authorities have booked Carriedo in major prisons due to felony domestic violence and his prominent warrant.
The Sheriff’s Office said he was in custody on $185,000 bail.
