Doug Emov, the former second gentleman, has accused of dishonor after being attacked by the Trump administration, politicized the Holocaust and the memories of six million murdered Jews were taken from the Holocaust Memorial Council of the United States.
The Holocaust Memorial Council oversees the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. Most of the council members are appointed by the president and serve a five-year term.
Emov, a Jewish man and married to former vice president Kamala Harris, has been appointed to the council by former President Joe Biden.
According to Hill, the Trump administration, along with Emov, eliminated several other councillors appointed by Biden.
After receiving news of his firing from the council, Emov went to social media to bash the administration, saying it was “turning one of the worst atrocities in history into a wedge issue.”

“Today, I was informed of the removal from the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council,” he said. “Let me be clear: Holocaust memories and education should never be politicized. It is dangerous to turn one of the worst atrocities in history into a wedge issue.
Emov said despite his removal, he would continue to oppose hatred “in all forms.”
“Different political decisions will not shake my commitment to Holocaust memories and education and the fight against hatred and anti-Semitism,” he said.
Emov has previously been criticized for misleading basic facts about Jewish religion, including the origins of Hanukkah, one of the most important East feasts. Meanwhile, his wife and Biden were heavily criticized after the October 7, 2023 terrorist attacks, for not supporting the war between Israel and Hamas.

Emov also accused President Donald Trump of being a “threat” to Jews. In his speech in Pittsburgh during his 2024 presidential campaign, Emov said: He added, “Donald Trump is nothing if not an agent of confusion and cruelty, so that’s important today.”

However, in his first 100 days, Trump fought anti-Semitism, especially on university campuses.
Among other actions, Trump’s Department of Homeland Security has arrested Hamas sympathizers on university campuses. The administration also moved to reform the control process and withdraw funding from universities, including Harvard, to recognise students who are “hostile” to American values, or to avoid recognizing students who support terrorism and anti-Semitism.
In response to a request for comment from Fox News Digital, a spokesman for the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, “At this point, at this point of anti-Semitism and Holocaust distortion and denial, the museum is pleased that our visit is robust and that the demand for Holocaust education is growing.”
The representative added: “We look forward to continuing to advance our very important mission as we work with the Trump administration.”
