Investigators are looking for more potential victims of the suspect’s child-sex predator who worked at a family-run daycare in Santa Barbara County.
Martin Efren Barajas, 51, was arrested in March following an investigation into a 2002 report of temptation with a child, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Tuesday.
Barajas was booked on two counts of engaged in sexual activity with minors under the age of 10 and suspected indecent behavior with minors under the age of 14.
“Following the initial investigation, detectives have identified additional survivors and believe that there may be others who are not yet seeking justice,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
Martin Barajas can be seen in images provided by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.
Additional survivors likely contacted Barajas at a family-run nursery in Lowellway, Goleta in the early 2000s, authorities said.
Barajas booked photos were shared to help survivors identify suspects.
Anyone with information about additional crimes related to Barajas was asked to contact detective Holman by phone at 805-681-4150. Anyone who prefers to remain anonymous can submit information online on the sheriff’s office website or call 805-681-4171.
