As this spring season warms, more and more people tend to go outside. That includes visiting California’s most popular national parks: Yosemite.
A recent warning from the National Park Service (NPS) shows that you will need to visit the reservation in Yosemite for certain days until September. Reservation requirements are specific dates between May 24th and September 1st to enter and exit Yosemite National Park.
According to NPS, there are days and times when reservations are required here.
May 24th-26th (Anniversary weekend): Saturdays from 6am to 2pm. May 27th – June 14th: No reservations required between June 15th and August 15th: daily from 6am to 2pm. August 16-29: August 30th – September 1st (Workers’ Day weekend) no reservations are required: Saturdays from 6am to 2pm.
“If you plan to visit after peak hours, please do not arrive before 2pm,” Yosemite said. “Vehicles blocking the road will be quoted.”
Yosemite said the new system will ensure that all visitors can experience the park at the last minute, whether they plan their trip in advance.
Reservations for Yosemite National Park can be made here on Tuesday, May 6th at 8am. Park officials are encouraged to create a reservation.gov account in advance to make an immediate reservation when it is published at 8am
“Pre-orders sell out almost immediately,” said a Yosemite Park official. “Even if you are logged on by 8am, there is no guarantee that you will be able to get a reservation.”
