Los Angeles prosecutors did not file charges against Weeserband’s wife when he appeared at the first courthouse in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Gillian Schreiner was accused of firing a police officer on April 8 when LAPD officials were searching her neighborhood in Eagle Rock and searching for the three people who fled a car accident. LAPD said Schliner came out of her house and was armed with a handgun.
The assistant district attorney told the judge Wednesday that the prosecutors have not decided which charges can be filed as LAPD investigators have not provided all the evidence they have gathered.
Body-covered camera footage shared by police last week showed officers repeatedly yelling at her to place the gun before raising it during the incident.
The video also shows that two LAPD officers have been hit back with injuries to the shoulders. She was later treated at a hospital and was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of a police officer.
Schliner remained free after posting $1 million bail.
Several law enforcement agencies familiar with the investigation said prosecutors were waiting for CHP while LAPD presented evidence to the DA’s office, but there were also officers at the scene of the shooting.
Shriner’s defense attorneys did not immediately respond to NBCLA’s request for comment.
