First on FOX: A leak video obtained by Fox News Digital shows school administrators at Illinois medical schools have rejected multiple Trump executive orders, including a fight with the DEI, and outlines the school plans to fight them.
Trump’s executive orders on gender ideology are “attacks on women” and “fundamental human rights,” according to Dr. Jerry Cruze, dean and CEO of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Kruse recently gave a speech in a small group discussion about Trump’s executive orders and actions obtained by healthcare and policy advocacy groups.
“We resist following in advance. We do not provide predictive submission,” Kruze said. “The existing laws have not been changed. At this time, court orders do not require changes to compliance.”
Kruse added, “These executive orders and actions, and the general philosophy they support, constitute a direct attack on everything that matters to us.”
The “awakening” hospital could be in the crosshairs of Trump administrators after committing a complaint.

“More importantly, these orders and actions constitute a direct attack on those we serve, those we are accountable,” he said.
Kruse explained that medical schools are “very lucky” to be part of the university system “above” in terms of pushing back Trump’s executive orders.
Kruze also argued that the executive order on immigration and Day from the Trump administration was “an attack on human rights, justice and fairness.”
At one point in the speech, Kruse said he would provide employees with “resources” to “fight back.”
SIU’s school system has been a proactive and active in promoting DEI in recent years and has been a topic discussed in the presentation.

“The work we focus on diversity, equity and inclusion is a matter of life and death for some people,” said Dr. Wendy El Amin, Associate Dean of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion during his presentation.
The school’s website hosts a page that features DEI work that reflects the demographics of Central and Southern Illinois and features DEI work that functions to ensure that students, residents, faculty and staff have the knowledge and skills to address health disparities through culturally sensitive care, patient access, education and health literacy initiatives.
In February this year, the SIU Board reaffirmed its commitment to DEI, with school anti-racism and Dei’s Dei Sheila Caldwell arguing that DEI is “saving lives” and that there are measurable improvements for students in minority of retention rates.
Siusom has received millions of active grants from Dr. Donald Torry, Associate Dean of NIH, HHS and Research, and in his presentation he said none of the grants have been affected.
Regarding the immigration executive order, Dr Vidya Prakash, Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs and Population Health and Chief Medical Officer, said in the presentation that the dean of schools had recently sent an email to faculty instructing them not to comply with the ice and that security should be called if the situation arises.
“So, whether it’s an employee or a trainee, we should understand that members of our medical school should not have to engage in conversations or discourse with the ice,” she said, adding that there are patients in the school who are “scary” and live in fear of being arrested.
“Continue what you were doing,” Paulette Dove, senior advisor to health affairs for the SIU System, added during the presentation that “the law hasn’t changed.”

“These issues require strong institutional and collective responses,” Kruze said. “Thankfully, the SIU system stands firmly in a strong voice. SIU President Dan Mahoney says that we hold our position and that “executive action is the opposite of the value of our institution, the SIU system.”
“The Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is committed to following the law,” Lauren Crocs, director of marketing, communications and engagement at the university, told Fox News Digital.

“In a direct conflict with President Trump, Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is pleading for it to be investigated by the federal government,” Do No Harm’s Dr. Stanley Goldfarb told Fox News Digital in a statement. “In this unearthed video, medical deans, senior advisors and other officials openly and repeatedly show off their lightly emptying against the administration’s order to promote sexual institutions and protect children from transgender procedures.
“While rebelling against executive orders and obsessing with DEI and gender ideology, Siusom somehow continues to receive millions of taxpayer dollars from the National Institutes of Health. School officials have clarified their playbook.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller on Thursday promoted Trump’s efforts to dismantle diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
Miller appeared alongside White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt during a briefing Thursday morning, declaring that the administration is bringing back a “system of merit” to the United States
“This administration has awakened and strangled our society to the communists, it has awakened and strangled it to day,” Miller said. “We’re going to have a system of merit.”
“It’s not just a social and cultural issue, it’s an economic issue. When you hire, retain and hire based on merit, President Trump will direct you, promote innovation, grow, invest and promote job creation,” he added.
