The House Freedom Caucus described President Donald Trump’s budget proposal as a “paradigm shift,” with members of conservative groups expressing support for the president’s plan.

“This is how you break the swamp. Settle with the Republican votes and pass on the Magazine Republican priorities – ending Democrat leverage against the president to fund the vain, awakened, weaponized bureaucracy on the left.

The president is trying to reduce discretionary non-defense spending and boost funds for defense.

Trump proposes a basic non-defense discretionary budgetary authority of $163 billion (22.6%) below this year’s spending, protecting funds for homeland security, veterans, seniors, law enforcement and infrastructure.

“On defense spending, the President has proposed $1.01 trillion, up 13% in FY26. For homeland security, the budget will ultimately secure a historic $175 billion investment to fully secure the border. Some of these increases are envisaged in a budget resolution of at least $325 billion. Our border invasions have the resources needed to complete the mission,” he explained.

Rep. Chip Roy of R-Texas, a member of House Freedom Caucus, has expressed his support for the president’s proposal.

“This budget will re-align federal spending to people’s priorities. It will make America healthy again, the Department of Justice is fighting crime, not weaponizing weapons against people, and not common sense,” the lawmaker declared in a statement.

“Combined with our joint efforts to withdraw other wasted spending, to reform Medicaid and other programs and provide an expanding settlement bill and to provide an expanding settlement bill, we are poised to bring prosperity, freedom and strength to the American people,” he said.

R-Tenn, another member of the House Freedom Caucus. Rep. Andy Ogles, of “The Game-Changing Budget,” called Trump’s proposal a “game-changing budget,” in an X post, “what Republicans claim to have been delivered, securing their hometowns, cutting the federal government and taking away deep states.”

Barry Moore, R-Ala, a member of Freedom Caucus. described the president’s budget as “a bold step towards fiscal responsibility.”
