Signs have recently been discovered by Eagle Eyed fans that Berry Farm in Knott is working on its work to “rethink” the famous Montezoma revenge roller coaster.
Knott’s Adventure, an Instagram page, shared photos of the tractor trailer delivering a section of the new trucks in The Ride. Knott officials confirmed the delivery to the Orange County Register.
Montezooma’s revenge has been closed since 2022. Last year, Knott announced he was overhauling the 47-year-old flywheel launch coaster, but he did not share details.
A theme park in Buena Park posted on social media said, “work is “re-zooming” to reimagining Montezoma’s revenge.” “Montezoma: Get ready to start a new thrill when the Forbidden Fortress opens in 2025.”
Coasters are a favorite among many thrill seekers and are designated as landmarks by American coaster enthusiasts. The organization recognizes that Montezoma’s revenge is the last commercial ride of its kind in the US and its longest position in its original location.
Only 45 other roller coasters from around the world are designated as ACE landmarks.
The thrill ride “aligns passengers from a 55mph station to the top of the 76ft, 360° loop and 148ft tower.”
According to Knot’s website, after a moment of weightlessness, the train zooms backwards through the tower, passing through the loop, passing through the second 112-foot tower, and through the tower to the station.
The roller coaster reopening date has not been announced.
