The newly released audio captured the final communication between the pilot and the air traffic moment before the plane crashed into a Simi Valley neighbourhood, killing the two and the dog.
Just before 2pm on Saturday, a small plane crashed into two homes in the Wood Ranch community, killing people and animals on board, spreading fire and destruction into nearby homes.
Although weather may be a factor for some pilots, it is too early to tell them exactly what went wrong, the newly emerging recordings will help investigators.
“We need vectors,” the pilot can hear him say on Live ATC audio. “The plane keeps me on.”
“626 Bravo,” the air traffic controller replies. “You come, you’re broken and you can’t read.”
The controller contacted me twice more, but the radio went silent.
Nearby ring security footage, which was immediately taken, captured the slightest view of the plane crashing into the sides of two houses, destroying them by loud cries.

At the time, residents were inside the house, but were able to evacuate before the flames broke out.
“He was hitting gas on and off and hitting a very, very low circle, so something was off,” said Arnaldo Gonzalez, a resident of Simi Valley.

Jennifer McGraw of Ktla spoke with neighbors and witnesses on Monday and heard that the plane was the pilot who rescued the dog on the plane, and that the dog involved in the crash was one of the rescued people, and that the plane was registered with the pilot who rescued the dog.
Furthermore, although authorities have not released or confirmed the identity of the victim, several social media posts suggest that Berkovitz is a pilot.
Berkovitz was the owner and builder of the van RV-10 kit plane that the FAA said had crashed into Simi Valley Homes.
