A man arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism after crashing into the gates on Monday at actor Jennifer Aniston’s Bel Air home has repeatedly posted online about the “friend” star.
Jimmy Wayne Carweil, 48, was scheduled to be arrested Wednesday after being identified as the driver of a PT cruiser who hit the gates of a Westside property in Los Angeles. Carwyle was held by the property’s private security team until police arrived.
Details of why he crashed into the gate were not immediately available.
Steve Lair, the man’s longtime friend, who moved from his native Mississippi in September and lived from his car at Walmart Supercenter in Burbank, told NBC News on Tuesday. He had a well-paid job as an auto service technician, but left five years ago. His friend said that he was followed by a steady decline and delusion that he was a Christlike figure who married Aniston, who was at home at the time of the crash.
“I hope he gets the help he needs,” Rhea told NBC News. “I hope there’s a way to fix him, but I don’t know.”
According to NBC News, Carwyle has repeatedly posted about Aniston on social media. As part of the investigation, detectives are looking into his social media posts, according to law enforcement sources.

“I’ve been writing with you since the beginning of Jennifer Joanna Aniston Carweil,” Kerrweil wrote on Facebook on March 26th.
Another, posted in October, included an ad in which Aniston died on a line of hair care products. A post a few days ago claims that two unknown troops are apart.
Another childhood friend told NBC News that she has been worried about Carwyle since the pandemic.
“I really hate how this happened to Miss Aniston,” Baptist pastor Marty Merritt told NBC News. “But the only thing I want is that this is enough attention. Jimmy can get some help. He needs some serious help. This is a rock bottom.”
It was not immediately clear whether Kerweil had a lawyer who could speak on his behalf. He was held without bail.
