A woman who survived a brutal hit-and-run in Los Angeles’ Los Ferris neighborhood is seeking public help in finding a driver who attacked her last month and unconsciously left her on the streets.
Kate Oliva told KTLA’s Erin Myers that she was jogging when a driver believed to be in a White SUV or truck collided with her on Talmagge Street and Franklin Avenue around 11:30am on April 3.
“To hit is one thing, and what remains is something else entirely,” the seriously injured Oliva told KTLA. “I just come on the road, it’s covered in blood, it’s confusing, you don’t know what happened, someone can do it and you know it’s really miserable to leave you there.”
Passersby came to her aid on her unconscious, bloody streets.
“I had a concussion. I had to get a staple. [in my head]. The writers and filmmakers explained.

Oliva added that it was difficult to return to work full time while she was still recovering from her injuries and although she shared her gratitude to strangers who helped her with the day, she has good and bad days.

“If this experience has one silver lining, I’ve come to know a lot of people in this community,” she said. “This is a very nice place to live. I feel really fortunate because a lot of people were so kind and kind.”
Detectives canvas the area where hit and run occurred and spoke to potential witnesses, but so far, Oliva has reached out to the public as the suspect remains free.
“It’s great to have a better understanding of what happened and who did this,” she said.
Police continue to investigate hit and run, and detectives say they are still following up on potential leads.
